NEW YORK--MICA New York Alumni @ Spattered Columns exhibition, which highlights the work of nearly 30 New York-based MICA alumni, is open at Art Connects New York's new gallery space, Spatter Columns (491 Broadway, 5th Floor) though Thursday, Feb. 18.
ACNY, a not-for-profit organization devoted to "using the transformative power of art to enrich the lives of New Yorkers," is showcasing the work of unsigned MICA alumni in order to help expose them to art patrons of the city. Designed to showcase the creative expertise of MICA graduates, the exhibition features artists working in a range of media that includes painting, photography, illustration and sculpture.
Conceived by the MICA Office of Alumni & Parent Relations in collaboration with the MICA alumni association, the exhibition was developed as part of an ongoing mission to acknowledge, assist and advance the professional and artistic careers of the College's alumni. Creative submissions were received in response to a regional call for art from MICA's New York City Metropolitan alumni constituency. More than 90 works were submitted for consideration and review.
