MICA Alumni,

On May 18, what would have been MICA’s Class of 2020’s Commencement Day, we want to produce a Congratulations video for our students and we need your help to make it special. It will be a short video where we will have alumni applauding the students as well as messages of congratulations from the MICA community.

We are asking you to please submit a video. The video should include 10 seconds of applauding and then a 5-second Congratulations message. All congratulations will be posted on a site where the students can access them. In your congratulatory message please include “Congratulations to the MICA Class of 2020.” If you have your regalia, please wear it, otherwise, wear something festive or that shows your MICA spirit. 

Here are some filming tips:

• If you're using a phone, hold it horizontally so the image is wide, not tall.
• Avoid background noise (construction outside your building) and echoey rooms.
• Speak clearly into your device. Stand up when you record so that you project.
• If you can, position the phone on something to avoid a shaky camera
• Keep your device around the same height as your eyes.
• Make sure there's enough light on your face for the camera to see you clearly. Windows are a great source of light, but not if they're behind you.

Please submit your video to events@mica.edu no later than Friday, May 8 to be included in the Final Production.

If you are not able to do a recording, join the events team in a 3-4 pm Zoom session on Friday, May 8 where we can record you, however, the quality will not be as good. Please email jlipitz@mica.edu directly for an invite to that meeting.
