Before You Begin
Gather all of your content before you fill out the form—images, descriptions, captions, etc. We've created this checklist (available in Google Doc and pdf formats) to help you collect all assets as you go.
It is critical that you fill out the form as accurately as possible. Here are some expanded definitions of content:
- File Specifications: Images used in MICA’s online gallery should be at least 1440x880 pixels in size if .jpg or .png. Accepted file types are .jpg, .png, and .pdf. Please name the uploaded file with your last name & abbreviated title of work. If you are uploading multiple files of the same piece of work, please number them as well. (ex. Lastname_artworktitle1.png, lastname_artworktitle2.png) Please note: if your files are not properly named, they will be sent back to you to rename, and your webpage will not be built until the error is corrected.
- Number of files: Each student can upload seven artworks, and up to three images per artwork.
- Alt text: Alt text helps screen-reading tools describe images to visually impaired readers. It is also the written copy that appears in place of an image on a webpage if the image fails to load on a user's screen.
- Streaming content: If your content is time-based (video, audio, etc.) please provide a streaming platform link (YouTube, Vimeo, Soundcloud, etc). Videos must have public or unlisted access to be shared on our platform.
- HTML Embeddable content: For interactive/embeddable content such as interactive games, 3D objects, websites, please provide fully formed HTML <object>,<embed>, or <iframe> markup
- Captioning: If your work involves spoken words, please provide text captioning.
- Sale link: Could be an online selling platform, could be a link to contact you about purchasing work or an email address for sale inquiries.
