Please read this message in its entirety—this communication applies to College operations for only, January 7, 2025.

Due to the additional snow expected this evening and freezing conditions in the morning,  MICA’s campus will be closed tomorrow, January 7th with teleworking and liberal leave in effect.

This means:

• All academic buildings are closed. Only required Attendance Personnel should report as scheduled or assigned.

• Staff who are able to telework are expected to do so.  If a telework employee needs to flex their working hours, it is expected that they inform and communicate with their department or supervisors so that appropriate coverage and planning can occur. 

• To accommodate telework employees who may be experiencing weather-event-related challenges—for example: dependents with delayed school openings or school closures —liberal leave is in effect.  Liberal leave means that an employee can use their individual accrued leave (personal, floating, or vacation) for hours not worked, that accommodates their individual situation during a weather event. This applies to telework employees.

 

Since conditions around campus may evolve, MICA will continue to monitor the situation and will send further communications via email, on the MICA / App, on the website at www.mica.edu and on the College’s social media channels if there are any updates.
