ELLIE GA's narrative based-videos and performances address pressing social issues, often in unexpected contexts: from the submerged ruins of the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria to a study of messages in bottles, tools for studying oceans currents and as metaphor for exile. Her work was included in the 2019 Whitney Biennial, and is in the public collections of The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York; the Whitney Museum of American Art; the Albright-Knox Museum in Buffalo; FRAC Sul, Marseille, France; FRAC Franche-Comté, Besançon, France; Fondation Galeries Lafayette, Paris; Hannebauer Collection, Berlin; the Hessel Museum of Art, Bard College, New York.
