The 2024 Janet & Walter Sondheim Art Prize Semifinalist exhibition features artists from various disciplines, including painting, photography, sculpture, animation, and fiber craft. Named in honor of philanthropists and civic leaders Janet and Walter Sondheim, the prize celebrates their significant contributions to Baltimore’s arts and culture. Janet Sondheim danced with the pioneering Denishawn Dancers, while Walter Sondheim, Jr. was a key civic leader involved in developing Charles Center and the Inner Harbor.
Jurors for the 2024 competition are artist, scholar, and poet Noel W. Anderson; curator, educator, and historian Connie H. Choi; and curator, historian, and lecturer Aaron Levi Garvey.

The Sondheim Exhibition is co-organized by The Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts (BOPA), which serves as the city’s arts council, events producer, and film office, and organizes free city-wide events including Artscape.

Gallery Hours:
The Decker and Meyerhoff Galleries will be open Artscape dates/hours: Aug 2, 5-10pm; Aug 3, 11am to 10pm; Aug 4, 11am to 5pm. All other hours are M-F 10am-5pm. Campus galleries are open to the public.
