The solo exhibition Cathexis by Christopher Huff will be on view from November 11th 2019 to December 6th 2019 in the Pinkard gallery. Through Chritophers work, he explores the abstract realm of uncertainty. Each realm reflects a different reality, moment in time and emotional state of his mental consciousness and physical health. Through the process of painting he investigates the uncertainty of his health as an African American male living with Sickle Cell Anemia. To Huff, each realm is created in search of self discovery. "How has the traumatic pain, moments of loneliness and need for better days shaped me not only as an African American male living with a blood disorder but as an artist as well?" Is a question he ponders throughout creating his work. This is a student space gallery run exhibition, the center for student engagement provides an opportunity for students to show their work as a solo exhibition throughout the year in order to gain professional development on how to properly put together a solo show.
