Terrestrial Simulacra aims to underscore, critique and supplement traditional practices of human fabrication on multiple fronts. Abbey Franklin and Seanna Harrisʼ practices in textiles, natural dyeing, and printed media converge to investigate the current conventions of society that address the mismanagement and exploitation of resources as well as finding ways to carve out more sustainable practices for the prospective years to come. Both artists aspire to engage viewers in the conversation of addressing how humans are implicated in their global environment. Terrestrial Simulacra invites viewers to examine their own hand in these issues as well as their realm of influence.
