The 14Karat Cabaret Retrospective Exhibition presents the history of an artist-run performance project located at MAP for over 30 years. Directed and organized by Baltimore artist Laure Drogoul, the project was conceived as a place to experiment with new forms of art making and challenge expectations. The exhibition gives an overview of some performance art history in the 1990's and 2000's in Baltimore. The project presented hundreds of local, national and international artists. The 14Karat Cabaret exhibition features ephemera, photos, posters, zines, performing objects and video of the history of the project from its beginning in 1989.
The exhibition features special evening performances in the exhibition on Sept. 25, Oct. 29 and Nov. 6 . Free and open to the public. The gallery is open Tuesday - Saturday and masks are required.
