I'm a 22-year-old illustrator from Northern Virginia with a focus in book arts, surface design, hand lettering, and (as of late) GIF making. Throughout my time at MICA, I’ve never been one to stick to one particular style or medium. Instead, I’ve adapted and expanded upon my skillset to keep my work fresh and exciting.
My thesis project, A New Revolution combines my interests in history and roller coasters by telling the story of the first modern vertical loop on a coaster and the two engineers who made it a reality. There are so many fascinating stories about the history of roller coasters and theme parks as a whole and I was disappointed to find the topic largely untouched in the realm of nonfiction children’s picture book. So, my goal with this project is to remedy that problem and to hopefully get more kids interested in the topic.
