I make art that allows- allows love, and acceptance. Allows safety, and emotions. Allows growth and change and improvement. That’s what I want to give to others through my work: room to explore. I make art that feels comfortable and safe and warm. I use many different techniques and materials to create the work I do, including textiles, ceramics, basketry, fibers, sculpture, and illustration. These different practices come together, sometimes beautifully, sometimes wild and incongruent, a mashing of ideas and practices that don’t always fit. It doesn’t have to fit. It just has to have a warm light inside it’s chest, peeking out through the cracks.
The world is a hard place and I would like to sit in this light for a bit. Don’t you want that too?
