We welcome students, faculty, staff, and visitors with disabilities. We are committed to ensure an accessible, welcoming working and learning environment for individuals with disabilities, including compliance with federal and state regulations.
Web Accessibility
Can we honestly say this? MICA strives to meet or exceed the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, which is the current standard required under updated federal regulations, including the U.S. Department of Justice’s 2024 rule under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), with compliance deadlines extending through April 2026. In addition, MICA is actively working toward alignment with WCAG 2.2 Level AA, the most recent version of the guidelines, published in 2023, which introduces enhanced requirements for usability, focus visibility, and interaction accessibility.
Ongoing Commitment
Accessibility is an ongoing effort at MICA. We:
- Integrate accessibility best practices into our content management system (CMS) and training programs
- Continuously audit and improve website content and functionality
- Evaluate third-party tools and integrations for accessibility compliance
- Work to ensure digital documents, media, and interactive elements meet accessibility standards
