Paths to Professional Success

The MICA graduate ecosystem is the intersection of talented students, accomplished faculty and outstanding resources. As a graduate student, you have student-centered, personalized academic guidance to help you develop your practice. You also have access to a variety of programs - including full-time, part-time/low-residency and online programs - so that your path to professional success can be aligned with your interests, goals and lifestyle.

Online Programs

MICA explores the intersection of design and business through a suite of masters programs for professionals who desire to change their career path or quicken their career pace. Three Masters of Professional Studies programs - Business of Art and Design, Information Visualization and UX Design - are delivered almost exclusively online. Students in these programs maintain a work/life balance, taking courses online through most of the program and visiting MICA for short mini-residences that foster collaboration.

Part-Time/Low-Residency Programs

MICA offers two part-time/low-residency programs, the M.A. in Art Education and M.F.A. in Studio Art. Both are designed for working professionals who wish to maintain their careers as art educators or exhibiting artists while completing graduate study. Students in these programs take online courses during the academic year and attend MICA for studio-based summer residencies.

Full-time Programs

MICA offers an array of full-time fine arts and design M.F.A. and M.A. programs for students. In addition, the College offers an MBA/MA dual degree in Design Leadership with Johns Hopkins University.
