Charles H. Sawyer was a photographer who traveled within New England, New York, and on the west coast taking landscape photos in the early part of the 20th century. His black and white images, developed from glass plate negatives, were then colorized by a staff of women at his studio in Concord, NH: "The Sawyer Pictures." This project represents the first step toward cataloguing and preserving his work while calling attention to the talents and artistry of his colorists.
