R-CHAT WORKSHOP (Roommate Conversational Habits and Techniques)

It’s not just about the dishes!
Having roommates can be a fun and exciting part of the college experience, and also well, a little frustrating. This new roommate communication skills workshop offered in partnership with ResLife and the Student Counseling Center will explore different communication styles, the important things we need to communicate about, and how to do so in a proactive and solution-oriented manner.

Anxiety Angle

Wednesdays from February 12th to March 12th;  2:30pm - 3:45pm
Join the Anxiety Angle! In this therapeutic group, you will learn skills to handle anxiety, improve your self-care, take part in calming activities, and make connections with other students.

We’ll meet every Wednesday for five consecutive weeks (Feb. 12th, Feb. 19th, Feb. 26th, March 5th, March 12th.) from 2:30pm - 3:45pm in Bunting Rm (tbd). Sharing is not required. No need to have been diagnosed with anxiety or any mental health condition.

Other things you will learn include:  
• What anxiety looks like in everyday life 
• Mindfulness strategies to calm your body and mind
• How to handle worries 
• Self-care to improve your ability to tackle anxiety 
• What to do when you’re feeling overwhelmed 
Plus, members will make crafts to take home with them!

Dungeons Monthly

“Dungeons & Dragons” Tabletop Role Playing One Shot Games, Fourth Fridays of the month

SAD (Support Against Depression) Squad

Wednesdays from March 26th to April 23rd;  2:30pm - 3:45pm
Join the SAD Squad! In this clinical group, you will learn skills to boost mood, learn ways to engage in self-care, learn skills to cope with suicidal thoughts and reduce self-harm, and make connections with other students!

We’ll meet every Wednesday for five consecutive weeks (March 26th, April 2nd, April 9th, April 16th, and Apr 23rd) from 2:30pm - 3:45pm in Bunting Rm (tbd). Sharing is not required. No need to have been diagnosed with depression or any mental health condition. 

Other things you will learn include:  
• What depression is, risk factors, and how it manifests in people
• Emotional awareness
• Challenging thoughts that lead to low mood
• What to do when you’re feeling stuck and hopeless 
• How to handle suicidal thoughts and the urge to self harm 
• How to engage in activities to improve your overall well being
Plus, members will receive a gift on the last day!
