MICA's team of BFA/MAT faculty are professional art educators and multidisciplinary artists. We bring to the studio and classroom cross-state and international experience in the classroom, educational leadership, and art education advocacy. We work hard to maintain our own creative practices as professional artists.

Dr. Lisa Hochtritt is faculty and Director, Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program at Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland.
Sara has provided services for students with special needs in Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS) for 35 years. She is currently the Supervisor of The Alternate Maryland School Assessment, Autism Spectrum and Related Disorders & Programs for Students with Significant Cognitive Disabilities ages 3 thru 21 in BCPS.
Vanessa '07 (Art Education) received her Bachelor of Arts in art history from Purchase College, the State University of New York and a Master of Arts in Art Education from MICA. She joined the College after 10 years of teaching art in Baltimore City Public Schools.
Katie is a printmaker who lives in Baltimore City. For the past six years, she has been working full time as a faculty member in the Center for Art Education at MICA, working with both Undergraduate and Graduate students pursuing their Masters of Arts in Teaching.
Nan Park Sohn is a faculty member in the Master of Arts in Teaching program and the low-residency Master of Arts in Art Education program.
I was born and raised in beautiful Miami, Florida. For college, I completed my undergraduate degree at Boston University.
