Jenelle Legge

Jenelle Legge was born in Baltimore, Maryland. Her love of color grew from painting to textile design with a focus on Natural Dyeing. She uses natural dyeing to incorporate materials full circle, from spices and food scraps we may eat and use medicinally, into artwork and textile pieces that create color and prints. Her use of natural dyes honors knowledge that has been passed down through different cultures and times-forming a connection between material, the earth, hand, sustainability practices, and the viewer. She pulls inspiration from family dynamics, socioeconomic constructs and the creation of reality through perspective. Jenelle enjoys learning, teaching and being in community.
