Paul Long has taught a variety of courses in MICA's Humanistic Studies department over the past decade, including: Genre: Introduction to Creative Writing, Hypertext: 21st Century Electronic Writing and Theory, Experimental Narrative and Mixed Media, and Contemporary American Poetry.

Paul received his MFA in Creative Writing from Brown University and his MA in Secondary English Education from Columbia University Teachers College, and his BA in English from The University of Virginia. He has published eighty-seven poems in thirty-two publications including American Letters & Commentary, Poetry New York, First Intensity, Fourteen Hills, Sonora Review and Fence. Paul's manuscript, A Piece of Wood Drawn From Memory, was a Finalist for the National Poetry Series Competition.
