I describe my paintings as a representation of myself and my own personal sense of space. Each “space” is constructed over time from layer upon layer of abstracted gestural marks, taking detailed care to investigate contrast and luminosity. I am interested in the connections and correspondences within these spaces, working in a calculated yet intuitive manner by adding, removing, layering and blending collectively, as a way of revealing my subconscious to the viewer. Playing around with these layers, the boundary between layered and revealed surfaces becomes ambiguous, leaving the viewers to stroll through the spatial arrangements with lively motion.
